72 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban FS

I hate to let it go but I've decided I can't give it the attention it deserves, so its for sale.

Located in NH

1972 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban 4 sale. 350/TH350. Custom Deluxe, 3 seats, barn doors. Ochre/Parchment. PS, PDB. 3rd owner, 106000 miles. One of <600 made in 72 with that drivetrain and barn door configuration. Original protect-o-plate and owner's manual.

This is a complete vehicle and mostly original and unmolested. Runs and drives, last on road in January 2003. I went thru it completely in 2001, here's what was done:

GM Crate motor <10K (hecho in Mexico)
Professionally rebuilt TH350 <5000 miles
4 nearly new BF Goodrich All-terrain T/A radials
New starter and dizzy (not HEI)
New Edelbrock carb (600CFM, electric-choke)
Replaced gas tank/sending unit.
New brake lines and hoses all around
New rotors and calipers
New gas lines front to back
New master cylinder and radiator
New single exhaust from muffler back
Front clip replaced with rust-free fenders (inner/outer) and radiator support.
All hacked wiring replaced with good used pieces.

Basically it was gone thru with the intent to use a daily driver, then a full resto down the road.

The grille is nice and has all 3 seats. 3rd seat is not installed, but goes with it. Uncut dash, 4wd works flawlessly

The is a New England truck and though it has not seen extensive winter use in years, the body needs work. PO patched floors and quarter panels, but they are in need of attention again. Needs rockers and floor supports, doors are salvageable, 3rd door is nice. Firewall, door pillars, and windshield frame are solid. I have a set of decent barn doors to go with it. If it were me, I'd find a decent body and start there, though all patch panels it needs are now available.

Frame, spring, and hangers are solid, has receiver hitch. Needs tune-up as it has not run much since 2003.

Needs headpipe, center e-brake cable, and drag link tie rod ends to pass a NH inspection.

$1900 OBO. Would like to see it go to good home before snow flies.

I have more pics, PM me if seriously interested.

Kevin, delivery is not possible at this time. You would be an ideal candidate for this adoption however.

I will post additional pics ASAP. It will need patch panels for rear quarters, floors and supports plus rockers. It's all been done once but needs to be done again. There's a lot of truck here and does not need big $$ put into it to make it a driver, but a full resto would require much time and effort.

Jeff, I still would like to have it. You are just to far away. I still have that 2wd down here that I could use the body off of since can't seem to sell it. If you ever want to get out of that cold and white stuff. just hop in it and bring it down. LOL. Surprised you don't have any on the ground yet. buy the way I'l have to get you some pictures of the ole plow truck I got from you a few years ago. Still running strong and my buddy is going to redo it this winter. he really likes it. Its a miracle, what you can bring back to life.

So Jeff...what is up with that burb? it only has 3 doors!
i heard something from my dog's niece's drug dealers' podiatrists' nephew-in-law, that the 3 door burbs are uber-rare! what a find!

good luck on the sale!

great deal

Power train well worth it in my opinion. This would be great candidate to drive and fix or buy a 2 wheeler and do body swap, then its worth big bucks. It should be a must for anyone within 800-1000 miles. Come on guys its a 72 and you know how jeff likes them stock!! I guess I need to finish mine and show you all what your missing!!

Thanks for the comments. TTT. It is a low-production rig.

That brown stuff is the reason why this is not worth 3 to 4 times the asking price.

If someone has a good burb body and wants a low-production 4x4 or has GeeEmm-like willpower and skill/time to bring this one back, it is a bargain IMO.

Yes, yes, and yes. Until I took it off the road (which had nothing to do with condition of vehicle and everything to do with lack of justification for added expense for a 4th vehicle to be on road), it was with my son in CT which was a 3.5 hr trip down I91 each way. I did what I did to it to make it a reliable daily driver.

Like I said, it needs drag link tie-rod ends, a head pipe, center e-brake cable and some rear quarter patching to pass a NH inspection.

Does it come with a plow?
Will it fit on a 16ft trailer?
When can I pick it up?

No.

Same wheelbase as a LWB truck. Overall length may be slightly longer. If you bring that 3/4 ton 4x4 that the 292 came out of over, you'll know before you get here

You tell me

FYI, hope this is not a deal breaker but I'm keeping the radio delete plate and St. Christopher magnet on it. :p
