Talking first post, first car, nice truck

this is my first post here, just thought i'd start out by showin off a lil bit. just got my first car a couple days ago....

1975 chevy silverado 1/2 ton all "done up"
basically the only original part of the engine is the block, which has about 98100 miles on it. everything else is from a crate 383 stroker with <2k miles on it. rebuilt tranny along with the engine. and of course, dual 2 1/2" flowmasters out the back for that oh-so-sweet sound. all original interior and paint, (although an extra layer of clear was added for shine/protection). pushes about 450+ horsepower. all of this on some nice chrome 22's. stock height (trucks were made to go UP not DOWN, unless of course its a roadster). other little details like a chrome front bumper. i'll be getting some line-x for the bed to protect it, chrome rear bumper to match the front, and some paint touch up to perfect it. maybe set the rear up about 2 or so inches to make it sit real pretty. blast to drive (even if it drinks a gallon of premium for every 8-12 miles) and gets a lot of looks and compliments.

what do you think?

Mitch

Nice truck..all the ones from the 70's in my area are all destroyed my rust. What color is the truck? I am thinking of going a light metallic green and wondered about 1976 Chev medium lime metallic...is yours this same color?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Mitch. I think you have a super nice truck. Take a look around and enjoy the site. Don't hesitate to ask questions or offer input.....

I'm going to copy this to the 73-87 forum. I know the guys there may not get to the picture forum often. I don't want them to miss this truck....

thanks for the compliments guys. to answer some of your questions i'm from marysville washington, and i picked up the truck for 8k. it was for sale by an 18 year old kid who had done it as a project (put in about 10k$ and paid about 4k$ for the truck) and only had it done for a couple months before he had to sell it to go to college. i'm not sure of the name of the color, if anyone knows where to find out the colors that a 75 came with stock i'd love to know myself!
