Need Fan Size
What is the size of the steel 5 or 6 blade fans with a fan clutch? 17 or 18 inch?
Thanks

Skokie,
For my new GM shroud (for a C10 SB V8 with A/C), the opening is just over 19". I talked to the folks at Flex-a-Lite recently, who advised that the fan should be approximately 1" less in diameter than the shroud opening, and they suggested their 18" (#5718 standard rotation, #5918 reverse rotation) for my application. They also recommended their #5657 HD Thermal Fan Clutch for my reverse rotation application (serpentine pulleys). Not sure if that also works for standard rotation, but it looks like it does. Here are their web pages for fans and clutches. I ordered the parts from Summit Racing. SSOW

I checked summit and its looking like its going to be the FLX-5718 for the fan and FLX-5534 for the fan clutch. Not sure about the fan clutch though since there are 4-5 to choose from.

I went with the HD 5600 series clutch based on recommendations from my vendors, since I'll be running A/C (Old Air system).
The 5500 series does not have the bi-metal spring to react better to temp changes as discussed in the other thread. If you're not seeing heavy loads or high heat, you'll probably be fine without the HD. SSOW

The fan is 33.39 and the clutch is 39.95 so around 80 for both.
