Need help on making offer/1972 cst blazer 4x4 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This guy has a 72 blazer cst 4x4 auto under 50k on a 350c.i. rebuild, he said it needed hubs for sure the interior is all stock, seats are ok, but it has a cancer hole behind the passenger side door the size of a soft ball, and bits and peices here and there. It's not for sale I just stoped and asked him what he would want for it, and he said make me an offer, I don't have time or money to restore it. Well guys any suggesions or things to look for or how much it might be worth.

It Worth Whatever Someone Is Willing To Pay, Loball Him A
Offer, If He Jumps Real High Try To Meet Him In The Middle.

Double Check The Options, It Could Make A Big Differance On A
Low Bid Or A High Bid, Does It Have A/c, Double Or Single Wall
Top, Dash Tach, Tilt, Rear Seat, Roll Bar, 4 Spd., Etc.......

Always low-ball'em. Just be careful not to insult him/her though. That could also turn a deal sour.

It has Double wall top with a wire pluged in for dome lights. Tilt, no tach it has back seat and roll bar. Yeah I was thinking about offering him $2,500.00, and see if he bites.

I would say that you could get away with offering less than that. From your descrition it sounds like it needs a bit of body work. A little work here and there can add up to quite a bit. Just do a walk through with the owner and point out all of the trouble areas and then make him an offer. At least if he thinks you came too low you gave him a good reason why and maybe you guys can work it out from there.

I come across this situation all the time, I buy and sell lots of vehicles. I have found that the best way to approach someone is to ask to look at the vehicle, express interest in the type of vehicle rather then the specific vehicle you are looking at. Look the vehicle over, and show him that you know the vehicles, and that you know what you are looking for. Be sure and talk to him a bit, and find out what he might want for it. If its not for sale then the ball is in his court, but if you show you know something, or come back with someone who does know something then the offer you give him (if fair) should take the vehicle! Lowballing will make him feel offended, and will definitly make him not want to sell it. Definitly get a price or a ballpark figure from him. Also cash talks, don't go there without being able to back up you're offer!

Thats what I was thinking maybe take about $3,000 cash with me and offer him maybe $2,500 and go from there. I think I should evaluate his decision on what he may think it's worth before offering him something

Definately put the feelers out. He may not think that it's worth as much as you do. Then again he might hike it way up hoping to meet you somewhere in the ballpark as to what he really wants for it.

What do we want snap shot of???? This thing sets between side of house and wood fence so i can't stand back to far.
