? about C/C Dually with 350sbc
This C/C I am looking at has a 350sbc in it. Wondering when GM started the serpentine belt system on these trucks? This one does not have it. Also any problem spots to look for on a '90 model dually? Thanks
I know this is not an 73-87 but I posted this on the 88-98 board and only 1 response.

actually, if it is a 1 ton it is still our body style and would fit better here than over in the 88+ board. i would figure in 90 that it should have the serpentine belt, are you sure the engine is stock for the truck? i am sure the "ol timers" will have a more precise answer... sorry..

I'm guessing its a 1 ton dually? Is it carbureted or feul injected? If its carbureted, that 350 is gonna chug to push all that weight, even a TBI 350 still might be a bit on the small side for that big of a vehicle. Best motor for a dually is a 6.2 diesel or a 454 Big Block. Look for the normal rocker rot beneath the doors. Also check the fenders, but they shouldnt be too bad considering the relatively young age of the truck as compared to, say, an 80 model with rocker cancer......^^^^

It is a 1ton dually...and fuel injected. Cliffsta, the fuel mileage has got to be better with the 350 than a 454 It would be used for light towing (16ft ski boat, small travel trailer)right now. It does have one small spot of rust below the r/r door on the rocker, 'bout the size of a dime. Well it does have a newer (87+)350, well at least the heads are because it has the center bolt valve covers. I thought maybe the serpentine system started in '91. I had a '91 S-10 blazer and it had the single belt, had a '90 S-10 pick-up(both had 4.3 L engines)and it had the v groove belts?
