Post sound system

anyone put any subwoofers under their seats??? I had some kenwoods, but they sounded like crap in my homemade boxes. I'm 18 yes i like my tunes. Could someone tell me what they have as far as their sound system and where they put all their speakers? There isnt much room in the cab for all of this stuff

I actually just bought a sub woffer today. I got a 10" Rockford Fosgate punch DVC and a punch 400.4 amp. Plan on building a box and putting it under the seat. That amp should slam that 10. I'll post some pic's when it's finished.

I PLAN on putting 6.5" components in kick panels and 1 10 behind the seats where the gas tank used to be.. with amps on either side and a nice CD unit in the dash, but thats so far off its not even funny.

unless you get a REALLY small sub, I dont think you could fit it under the seat, what is there like 4"? I dunno if any sub has the mounting depth to fit in a box and under it like that. Maybe an 8 or a 6.5..

I had two 12" behind my seat (no gas tank obviously)

I've seen someone with a realy nice setup. He is on this board. He as i think it was 10" in the front corners of the cab. Looked pretty cool.

I was going to buy the 10" MTX in a box with mids and tweeters. take out the seat, place speakers in spot on carpet and place seat back over, to at least delay anybody stealing them. mids and tweeters facing out towards your feet and the bass reverbing off your back.mounting the amp on the hump between two speakers.

It took me a long time to figure out where to mount all of my components, but I was able to mount a 10" Orion cobalt under the seat with my homemade box. It was a close fit. I measured approx. 6.5 inches under my seat at the front and 4 in the back. Still a little bit of room to work with. The sub sure pounds the heck out of my truck though!

Blaupunkt is coming out with a flat Sub woofer this year. Should go good under the seat. I think the mounting depth is a couple of inches on a 10" sub.

Well i've got 2 10" subs under my seat and 2 6x9s in the doors. The doors already had those holes cut so i just put some nice Cerwin Vega speakers in them. I've got a cheap but very effective 900watt (probly about 125rms/channel under the seat as well. As for my subs, they are Lanzar Neo series. only 2.3" tall and require little volume for the right range. The boxes are a tight fit under the seat as i removed my wire connecting the slider for moving the seats. I'm sure that i could have shrunk the boxes a little further but i didnt think it necessary.

Sorry for the long post all. Any other questions e-mail me.

Kicker 4" separates and flush mount tweeters in the doors, crossovers mounted on kickpanels. Kicker free air 8 in an open back enclosure under passenger side of seat. Crossfire 100x4 amp under center of seat and Alpine CD changer under drives side. Only cutting is of the door panel and door behind the panel so returning to stock is as easy as replacing the door panel.
