Headlight Conversion

Hey has anyone changed up their headlights???
I was surfing around and found a site that has projection lights for these trucks, and was wondering if anyone had pics of this done.
below are pics of them...
Right: Diamond Headlight, Left: Projection
if you have any pics of trucks with these please post them!

Hey low87,
Are those significantly brighter than the stock ones? or are you just paying to have them look cool. because if they are brighter, i might think about getting them.....

I have the upper ones wired as the low beam (but actually the h4 bulbs are on high 100 watts). When I click the high beams, all 4 are on at a total of 400 watts. So yes, it's pretty bright with two or all four on!

Here's the wiring diagram I used. I rewired the complete system with larger gage wire.

I know its not what you asked, but for actual performance, I am very pleased with Sylvania Xtravision's. I've never however seen in person the conversions you speak of. They look cool though!

That's what I'm using. Best sealed beam headlight I've used so far. Puts out alot of light without the euro look.

The next step up for sealed beams, are the Silver Stars from Sylvania. Comparable to HID's, but they're like $25 a piece.

Yeah, my buddy said something about silver stars today, and another guy piped in that he thought they were brighter than regular halogen. I think ill just get halogen; halogen is brighter than regular, thats all i want.

Everything now days is atleast halogen, I went to buy a headlight for my samurai and bought the cheapest thing advance auto had and it was a halogen light, under 10 bucks too. But halogen to me isn't that bright.

What can you put in the truck without re-wiring the whole system and spending big bucks? I need to replace a light in my truck and might go for 4 new xtra visions or something.

Re-wiring? Probably depends on your truck. I did the Midnight Moose lamps and I could smell the wires burning when the lights were on. So, I got rid of them. Probably just weak wiring, but I didn't want to re-wire the whole thing.

Instead of getting 4 new xtra-visions($13), get 2 of the lo-beam Silver Stars($25). It would be the same price and you would much happier. I use lo-beam only about 95% of the time anyway.

I had converted to the Midnight Moose lights and they are bright. To me, they left funky streaks in the lighting. I guess them being cheap was the cause. I tired of them and upgraded to the Sylvania Silverstars and have never looked back. The Silverstars are not cheap at around 25 bucks each, but well worth it. The Moose lights require some voltage and I could watch the voltmeter drop when I cut them on. They get hot as all get out too. Of course I have a two light frontend on my truck. I imagine with quad lights and them wired to all burn when on bright would really strain stock wiring. If you do this upgrade, think real hard about wiring them like Paul did.

A word of warning here. The Midnight Moose lights will blind on coming traffic if they are not adjusted properly. This will make it real dangerous to you also. Being as I've tried both, I recommend the Silverstars the most but either work really well as far as being able to see at night.

I got some decent ones from Autozone (I think they are Sylvania), not sure.

Ever since I installed them, only my top lights (the new ones) turn on. If I hit the bright switch, the same lights simply blink for a second and stay on, while the bottom ones never turn on....weird. Does this make sense to anyone?

I don't think I will pass inspection like this.

I have done the conversion - just finished installing all H4 lights and InproCar wear's 6X4 conversion housings using sylvania silverstars. They are significantly brighter than normal headlights, you aren't just getting a cool looking headlights. I also installed all new plastic adjuster blocks, a summit (actually APC) 4 headlight relay harness and I wired up daytime running lamps. I installed the low beams on the bottom and highs on top because it was easier to put the harness on like that. Definitly worth it.
