Harold, how far are you from Durham, I ask becuase I recently went there and it took 2.5 hrs, so that's what I have to judge by. Also, is the tank in very good condition?

I am about 4- 4.5 hours away. I am closer to knoxville than the state capital??? Tank is in very good condition, it will need a new sending unit for v8 - think I have one but no float or in tank sock.

70 Shorty, I havn't had a chance to check the used ones I have yet, I will try tonight or tomorrow. The new ones are on this page http://www.s-c-t-p.com/rad.html near the bottom, run $180. It is nice up in this area this time of the year I just hate the traffic. I'll get back with you on the used ones.
Thanks, Bill

Randy, thanks for hooking me up. As it turns out the sending unit has a fuel line bigger than what the old one had, so I'll be looking Bill's way for a new sending unit. I got the tank installed today, so I'll give Bill a call tomorrow. Bill, thanks for checking for me, I'll be talking to you about a lot of other stuff I need. After taking the old tank out, even the sending unit is very rusty. I don't think there would be any chance of rescueing the old tank even for the most desperate person. Randy, I would have loved to stay longer and check out the trucks and street rods closer, maybe next time, and maybe next time I can bring the Camaro. I noticed on your posts, "drinks beer, chases women" so I owe you a couple of beers.
