Projector Headlights

I was getting ready to order euro clear lights for the front of my truck when my friend suggested getting projectors instead of the clear headlights. Does anybody know anything about these, the price is definately low so it won't be terrible if they don't work right, but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about these lights. Thanks.

I just bought the clears for my truck. Reason being, I talked to my wholesaler, and they told me the feedback they have gotten is that while the projectors look cool, they don't perform that well. I have had euro corners and signals for a few years, and one thing I will tell you is stay away from APC. I have had nothing but trouble with the corner lites. I have installed them, and they leak, if not right away, within a few months. I have found the only way to cure this is to run a bead of a good CA glue around the entire mating surface of the light. Also if the signals have a vent in the bottom of them, it is usually too big, and will allow water to spray in when you wash the truck. Fill the vent almost fully with white silicone. As for headlites, My wholesaler wouldn't even sell me APC, even though they were quite a bit more money. He said I would send them back because the quality was so low. He told me APC used to be the best , but quality has dropped recently. He said there are some cheap brands out there that are really junk, and he would pick APC ahead of them, but hr would use TYC or inprocarwear ahead of APC. I went with TYC for mine.

I have always used TYC for the clear lights and they are great.

I have a pair or projecotrs on my Tahoe. They look cool and the lights seem to be just as bright.

Hmmm, I have a set of APC projectors on my ride for over a year now, and no problems. The one thing I did do when I got them was replace the 55 watt bulb with a 100 watt off road bulb.....perrrfect......

Something to watch on 100 watt bulbs is the wiring harness to the headlites. I ran 100 watters for about a year, and the plugs to the back of the headlites melted. I understand this is very common. GM even stocks replacement pigtails for this. A safer choice for bulbs would be something like some PIAA bulbs. They are still a 55 or 65 watt, but shine like a 100/120.

Thanks for the advice, not being very familiar with these I have one mroe question. Do the projectors use a regualr bulb, like the 9005 or 9006 (whichever is the low beam), and if so will the silverstars i have currently work (shine bright enough)? Thanks

Actually the projectors use an H-1 style bulb. They are available in 55 watt and a 100 watt bulbs.
