72 Cheyenne Super BB---given away!

I found this one at a donation center. The ugly red hood fooled everyone. It is a one-family, three-generation truck, and I think the third generation was about to do it in. It even runs.
It is original, right down to the heat tube and shield on the aircleaner. Not many options, other than the "Super" stuff, but there is NO RUST. The bed floor is pin straight and has the side cargo box, the cab and doors are premium, except for those ****speakers. Look at the original seat that was under the fuzzy seat cover.
Do you recognize that white patch on the RH side of the floor? Probably asbestise. It was GM's way to fight the notorious BB "Hot foot", used with the firewall heat shield to keep the passenger from burning up.

Found at a donation center? Wow. The occupants of my city are far too broke to ever "donate" anything...lol

Parting???

If/when I part it, I will list the items for sale on the parts board. I don't like to offer up a complete truck for parts, because I normally won't break up components of complete systems...and it opens up way too many requests for small pieces.
I am not listing it over here to avoid showing prices, so, please don't ask for parts at this time.
Thanks

Why part out a decent truck like this? That's a shame to do that, it's got alot of life left in it.

Parting Good Trucks!

Bobs409: I part out scores of real nice trucks. Just look at the 72 GMC on the parts board that I may part.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...hreadid=125829
It takes good trucks to get good parts. Crap trucks yield crap parts. Which kind do you want? They are just trucks, not family heirlooms.
The end result is customer's trucks that look a lot better than the ones the parts came off of. So they are going to a good cause---don't you think?

Referrals from my customers, from over the years, are my best source...but a little luck helps, too. ...and I pay good money for good parts trucks.
I get a lot of offers for trucks, that "Just need a little work" or "Easy to fix"...and of course they don't or aren't!!! I pass on a lot of beat up junk.

Try this board!

This board is an excellent source, too. I just bought a 72 "Super" with nice cab, doors, etc for $600---no eng/trans.

Bobs409, remember these are Chevy trucks, there were millions of them made. Be glad your aren't into Mopars. I've seen rusted Cuda shells going for $3500. If you have a good cab and frame, you can pretty much build a new truck. Man, though a big block 4X4, I wouldn't mind finding one of those. Which member of the rat family is in that bad boy?

Ok, I see where this is going, I'm not looking to ruffle anyones feathers. Sorry if I offended anyone, I was just asking but 15 years from now when they're all but gone or no longer affordable, and the trucks you guys parted out are then worth three times what they are now, I hope you remember this. Remember the days when '57 Chevy's were being parted out? They made millions of them too. Think about it.

Where I live, these trucks are getting rarer and harder to find by the day. It's gonna happen where you live too.

As for parts, these trucks are the easiest things to find parts for. You can get just about anything in repro or if original is what you want, there are plenty of trucks already in junkyards that cannot be rescued.

Just my personal thoughts.
