I had a '75 Coupe DeVille for a little while one crazy summer. That was by far the most comfortable car I ever had. It had the tilt/telescoping wheel, 6-way electric seats, cold A/C, and an armrest that would fold down in the middle of the front seat. It was beautiful bright red with a white Landau top and white leather interior. Also had a 500 in it. That thing would burn rubber for blocks. To be honest, one of the reasons I sold it is because I drove 20 miles to and from work and after a long hot day, I would almost fall asleep in the damn thing every night when I drove home Cool car though.

Yeah, no doubt. With mine it was like a weekend at bernies driving home with my wife asleep, sunglasses on and mouth open. I love my car though. A true cruiser.

GEEZER ride?!?!?

Have you ever RIDDEN in a caddy, olds, what have you?!? It's like floating on a cloud while sitting on your living room couch. What's better than that? Better than that, you get one that old, you're talking BIG BLOCK power. Gorgeous. IMO, the epitome of caddy/olds big car-ness is the 66 toronado and 67 eldorado. Gorgeous. Or, you wanna go older, how about the 1958 super 88 with the J2 (tricarb) package. Old man car. feh!

Wes, if I had the scratch, I'd be on that thing like a fat kid on cookies. it's even the right color!!

good thing about caddies, oldsmobiles and buicks, they DON"T quit. their motors have such high nickel content that they don't wear hardly at all. buddy has an 81 delta 88 that had 530,000 miles before he pulled the 307. it still ran like a top, and the bores had just enough ridge to catch your fingernail. I've seen 472's and 500's go for 450,000 miles before...

I have thought real seriously about purchasing it myself just for the motor. However if you seen this car in person, you would see why I wouldn't part it out. Believe me, there are some parts on this car I could use on my "67 Panel Project" WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

The owner of the shop I get all my work done at has the mate of that car. Very cool, in a two door anyway. It's even got floral pattern interior. He's putting it in storage.

Wes,
That's a great deal, I'd buy just to have a backup vehicle. I've always liked the big GM/Mopar barges though. The car I really want is a 1960 cadillac. How much less than a grand does he want for it?

grendel, It would make Sacremento and back a several times. Bill (my neighbor) usually takes his wife out to dinner in it once or twice a weak to keep it exercised and it runs great! Like I said, I thought about buying it for the motor, because it runs so well. Bill is a retired mill wright, so he is kind of particular about maintence and such. highwaydevil, as for how much less than a thousand that he wants, well that is something that would have to be negotiated between him and the buyer. He just told me that he would take less than a thousand dollars for it. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Well, if I fly up there, will you get me at the airport? (I also have some more money to throw your way, rebuilding my interior...)

I'd love to have an old caddy!

It's like riding in the hand of God. Gotta love dual zone climate control on long trips.
I've owned a '70 coupe w/ a 500 and a '77 coupe with a 425.
The 500 would blow the doors off the 425. either way If there driven normaly the engine never has to work hard and will last a loooog time.

A quick story:
My wife (Wendy) seems to have a bit of a lead foot.
Wendy said that she thought the tires were low because it was squeeling a bit around corners.
I checked the air, tires were fine. Went for a test drive, whipped it around a bend, no squeel.
When I got home Wendy asked me if I found the problem, I said Yep.
Its not a Vette! Slow down woman!

Wendy did admit that it was fun to see the facial expressions of young kids in their hotrods when they pulled up in the turn lane at a light to trying beat her off the line and get in front of her.

BTW, Good luck with the car grendel if you get it, you will love it!
People may call it an old man car but, Old men are pretty smart ya know!
