Ever since I got my truck I have seen so many 67-72 trucks around town. From faded work trucks, to non-restored beauties to muscle trucks. Everytime I see one in a parking lot I pull up next to it and try to have a little truck show. I always got a kick out of Harley guys waving to each other and now I find myself doing the same thing. People I meet are always the nicest even if they have done nothing to their truck but drive if for 30 years and usually get a kick out of seeing mine. One guy even had a re-kindled interest in restoring his. Anyway, I guess I just wanna say that out of the many car groups, and many others I have to say that I've yet to meet a bad egg driving a classic Chevy and they are the nicest people I've met in awhile (right up there with pilots and hot air balloonists) and I'm proud to be a part of it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is one of the most behaved boards I've ever seen and everyones just out to share stories and help others. Thanks.

Yep, great way to strike up a conversation with a total stranger.
Funny you should mention 30 years. A couple weeks ago I pull up at autozone and theres a guy putting new belts on his 1/2 ton lwb,. I think it was a 70. I walk up and break the ice with "what ya take for her?" He just grins and tells me he's had the truck for 30 years. Great guy. Turns out he is a traveling nurse and uses his truck to commute all over Texas. Fun stuff. |

I live on kind of a side street, and one day when I was working on a 69 stepside, a guy stops his truck and trailer in the middle of the street and came over to talk to me about mine. It turns out that he owns a 72 and a 70, and his father in law also owns a 67-72 ( can't remember the year). We talked for about an hour.

You guys shoulda been at the Indy board meet then. All we did was talk trucks and you should have seen everyones face light up. I have found that 67-72 truck people are the greatest to talk to. I have guys stopping me all the time ion the summer to ask about the MUTT and turns out that most of them have owned a 67-72 in the past

My beat up shortie gets comments everywhere I go. Also, folks put their business cards under the driver's side wiper offering to buy it. Teenagers get this far away look in their eyes when I tell them it was built in 1970. "Like, wow man my mom wasn't even born yet" Yes, sonny, the Viet-Nam war was still raging in January of 1970 when this truck was on the line in Fremont. I was only 12 then and I remember thinking the new trucks were too "plastic-y"! Man, look at a new Chevy! Talk about plastic!
Its nice to have a vehicle (get it?) to bridge gaps in social, religious, financial, and political beliefs and situations. If ya just talk Chevy trucks you're gonna get along! Warm regards to all my Chevy / GMC brethren and sistrethen (?) out there. See ya at NAPA! Hunter

It would be interesting to see a list of famous people who have own or own 67-72 trucks. Who knows maybe Jay Leno might step up to the plate in the future and challenge the guys on Trucks - Project: Copper Head, by putting a 572 BB in 67-72 as well. Wouldn't be the first 572 he owned.
