door mirrors

I just had the doors redone on my 1968 and would like some ideas on outside mirrors. I have heard that the factory replacements vibrate alot, is this true? Also I thought about some low mount tripod style sold through LMC, but wasn't sure if they would mount correctly with the curves in the body. Any suggestions?

I am in the same boat as you. I am currently redoing my '68 GMC and need some ideas for some mirrors, I was thinking of using the 1992 - 1996 F**d F-150 sport model mirrors. You can get them in chrome and they look fairly nice. Any ideas would help me as well.

The lowmount tripods are what I'm running. They work great. If you have to work with the truck, and need them to back a trailer or whatnot, those little round/rectangle factory jobs won't cut it IMO.Just day to day driving they will prolly be OK.

I am using mine to pull a 5th wheel car hauler so I require the larger mirrors. I have a set of the low mount tri pod mirrors from off of a newer GMC that I could run.

I'm looking for some mirrors as well. I'd like to go with some power mirrors if possible. My truck has late model fbody mirrors on it now but i just bought some new doors and would like some different mirrors for them. Here is a link of a pic of my truck with the f-body mirrors on it.

I got power mirrors for a 92-93 ford bronco,f-150.They have the chrome back, and the black frame is being painted body color. They fit pretty well.I will install them in the spring when yhe body work is done.
