I have this craftsman iductive advance timing light. Now if I want to set the timing 8-10 degree advance, does it mean if I turn the advancee nob to 10 degree, I should see the line on the damper at zero on the tag? is that right?

Correct. It allows you to set advance beyond the markings on the timing fin. Like 16% dial it in and when the mark lines up with "0" you are at 16%.

The model # is 21023 and the price was 69 $, I believe, although when I bought it they had it on sale and I got 10% off.
