It finally runs, I can't believe it!

I finally got my 350 to run! This is the first motor I have ever rebuilt. I have spent a lot of time and money on stupid mistakes with it, but I feel it was worth it for the knowledge that I have gained on what to do and what NOT to do. I built the engine in shop class, '72 350 bored .030 over, crane cam, performer intake and carb. I replaced everything on it, including the fuel pump, water pump, belts, hoses, cap , rotor, plugs, wires, and countless other items...

My friend's uncle came and helped me to get it running this afternoon. He adjusted the timing almost dead on without the motor even running. I don't know what he did exactly, but it works! The guy knows tons about Chevy and Ford, about why they did this and that and what happens if you do this or how this works and so forth...

Anyway, I am just really excited that the thing finally runs, now I can once again move forward with my project! I thought about dumping the project many times with all the frustrations, but now I'm glad that I didn't...just wanted to share with you guys my good news...

-Scott

Excellent! I was in kinda the same boat as you...I wasn't able to work on mine all summer and thought of getting rid of it, but know that I drug the frame in the shop one weekend and started on it, I now have a renewed drive to keep going on her!

Don't give up, and congrats!!

Congratulations on your benchmark. It's cool to hear that first firing of your work.
