What shocks for a lowered truck?

I am looking for input on what shocks to use on my 2 1/2" spindle drop and 4" rear coil drop for my truck. (I have used KYB's on my stock height truck and have been happy with them.)

The KYB's should work just as well w/the drop. If you like them, why switch?

The dropped spindles won't alter shock length req's. The rear drop springs prob will take some travel out of the shock, but @ 4" of drop they should work. Worst case scenario is you'll need to get rear shock locators.

The KYB's I am using now are on a stock height truck. I can buy them local, but I don't know what application to use. I posted this question on the suspension board and was told that the KYB's for lowered trucks are different than those used for stock height.

your lower control arm will ride in the same place, it just changes your spindle placement, so a stock ride shock will work in the front. you would need to change the shock if you went with a lowering spring.

With a 4" rear drop you only need rear shock relocators, no need to change shock, and using 2 1/2" drop spindles means you also do not need to change in the front as drop spindles require a stock height shock.
