tach dash question
do the 60 - 63 tach dashes require a sending unit? And if they do , will the 409 chevy units from an old impala work??? I have seen them sell with a sending unit before, but most dont come with one.

If i'm not mistaken, the '60-63 GM trucks and the '64-66 trucks with tachs had a sending unit for the factory tach dashes. I'm not sure if a sedan unit can be used on the trucks.

the factory assembly manual shows no drive unit, brown wire attaches to the coil & is run up to firewall & across to grommet behind instrument cluster. tach head attaches on right end of cluster if looking from in drivers seat. jc.whitneys has less than $100 tach that can fit into cluster for ALMOST original look too. see ya jw
