69 door hinge

The door hinge mount at the door sheetmetal is cracked out ( about an inch) not bad at this point. Is there any re- inforcement repair or just weld up the crack.??

I'm not aware of any reinforcements for this. My GMC driver door was cracked near the upper hinge when I bought it. Just remove the hinge from the door side straighten if necessary and weld it up.

One thing we do in aircraft is to drill a 1/8" hole at both ends of the crack before repairs. Stops the crack from growing in fatigue prone areas. I would also vee the crack with a cutoff wheel before welding, so you get good penetration. Also weld up the holes at the crack ends.
