using those on a show truck would be ok but if you want to actuly be able to drive it and feel safe you should probably purchase a set with the tall nuts like the originals.

p.s. just my opinion

edit: the tall nuts make the conection strong but also make the ubolts expencive. if you would like i have a set with the correct nuts for $55 shipped

U-bolts are still available from GM. I used '73 and up u- bolts on my '71 2wd Blazer front end rebuild. They are larger in size,... but worked without drilling out the crossmember saddles.

The picture he showed is the correct u-bolts and nuts....I just removed my 71's and they were original and just like the picture. Guess I was wrong...as Les at GMC Pauls says the tall nuts are the correct ones....someone must have changed mine out at some time along the 30+ years of life.

Got them. they are off my 72 frame and are in good shape. I don't know how much shipping will be but you can have them for $5

I started on GMC Paul's site before starting this thread. I didn't see them before and I still don't see them there.
