Speedometer and Tach.

As most of you old people to this site already know I installed a LT-1 with a 4L60E in my 67 project. Well, I am to the point now that I need a functioning tachometer as well as a speedometer that works. Here lies the problem. I have contacted Dakota digital to find out if they can help me. but by there name everything is just that digital. I have found a pure frickin magic box that will get my tachometer to work. But I need a gauge that will fit in my dash for the speedometer, and I need a cable for the 4l60E between the tranny and the new speedometer gauge. I don't want to go new school so to speak, I want a speedometer that looks old school. ( I bought the whole dash setup from another member). Help me out anyone that can. What would you people suggest? It is so close to being on the road. Sincerely, Kerry

I don't know anything about the LT-1 4L60E tranny's. I know the later ones use a electric signal for the speedometer. Cable X makes a box that converts the electric signal to drive a cable to utilize the original speedo. If your tranny is cable driven I'm not sure what exactly your needing. Cable X website is here, I'm not sure it will work with a stock speedo but will work with mechanical Autometer and Stewart-Warner brands. If nothing else a TTT for you.

68LSS1,
Thanks for the info. I contacted them earlier today and have ordered the Cable X box. The Sales person stated that their box would in fact work with the stock 67 speedometer. I am also going to order a module for inline between the stock tachometer and the computer from Dakota Digital it takes the four cylinder signal, that is what they told me and adjusts it for the stock tachometer for the truck. Thanks again. Kerry

Glad it will work for you. Shouldn't have any problems with the Cable X stuff as I've heard nothing but good about them.
