Looking for suggestions on '70 C10 350 V8 SB - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm looking to find a mini starter or hi performance starter for my truck. I'm running into problems with the latest being somebody telling me that the transmission I have is a 50's transmission and there's only the stock replacement for that. I have a three speed manual on the column. I don't know much about trucks yet, hoping to learn. I'm fixing up my Grandpa's old truck he had since new and kept great, until he gave it to my Uncle who let it sit there for four years or so. I'm trying to do something to it. I did dual exhaust, intake manifold, carb, fuel pump, water pump, wanting to change out my pulleys, and bag it. Any suggestions on a pair of headers, starter, or bags would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

These trucks used a bellhousing mounted starter on standard shift trucks. So, your truck may likely have the stock original starter.

You're not going to have much luck finding an aftermarket starter for it though.

Is there some reason you really need an aftermarket starter or a mini starter?

Yeah I do have the stock one, everything on it was stock. I don't need an aftermarket one. I just didn't want to run into problems with any headers I find. The stock one is huge so I thought it might be a problem. But will that be fine?
