In reference to another post,

Why do you like or prefer the Height you have made your truck ??

Mine's lowered !! NOPE,, I can't haul a load of wood, I can't haul a refrigerator, or much of anything else.. And I am even wondering if I can pull my small Toy hauler Trailer.. But I have my Ford F-350 4X4 V-10 to do that with.

What can i do with my lowered truck ?? I can drive down the road with better handling, Better traction, Smoother ride, Lowered center of gravity, and it's easier to get in and out of. ( I used to have mine 8" higher)

And above all else, I can drive down the road knowing That I made it, General Motors designed it, But I made it what it is today, From the frame up, I did it. It's not something that I bought a set of wheels and 32-10/50 tires for and said look what I did..!

Why did I do it to this truck? Because like the rest of you, I like the Body Style.

And above all,,,,, It's American !!!!!!!!!!

OH, Yea, By the way, My work car is a Ricer ...

So, What's your excuse ????

i like the ride/handling of a lowered truck too. i really like the look. it looks more mean and aggresive, same as any car.

I've got a 4/6 drop on mine. I just liked the way it looks like that. I'm saving for some 20's to make it look even better. I too have a lifted 4x4 for towing and hauling though

I have a 71 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban,stock springs with 32" tires.A 72 blazer with a 4" lift and 35's.And I have a 72 suburban lowered 4/6.I just can't make up my mind!

Not sure when it started or why, but I simply have always loved the look of low-slung, aggressive, pavement terrorizing (critters-stay-off-the-road) cars. My infection crosses all continents, makes, models and extends to motorcycles too.

Took me some time to realize that I like trucks even more than cars. So now, here I am and I am simply "driven" (pun intended) to own, operate and play with a full grown Hot Wheels vehicle.

We had a 76 4x4 Blazer that I messed around with as a teen and in college and it was great, but my LOWERED truck(s) allow me to cruise with style and be a big kid at heart. Can't really "CRUISE" a 4x4 unless you are cruising through the mud or up a mountain.

The folks have pics of me at the autoramas here in Sac around 5 years old. Had same smile then (just looking) as I do now driving!

I prefer the hot rod raked stance...the GMC sits like that, but that's just LOTS of miles on the original front springs and fairly new ones in the back. I've always liked the way that sucker sits.
However, A few months ago I had about 4200 pounds of bricks in there and that slammed the rear...the coils were stacked up on each other. It was a slow and rough ride, and stopping was interesting...but it did look good though.

I like the look of lowered trucks but since I will be using mine as a truck it won't be as lowered as I would like. So, its a trade off for me; somewhat lowered but still usable since its the only truck I will own.

I like trucks at their stock height or lifted. I don't like riding low to the ground. Mine is at the stock height and I like it.

My 72' K-10 will be lifted 2" or 4" have not decided yet..and my 71 C-10 is 4.5" lowered in the front and 4" lowered in the back. That's the way I like em'.....just cuze!

I used to haul a lot of wood (and other things) and did a fair amount of four-wheeling, stock K20 with overload leafs all around. When my fronts had sagged too much, the closest I found to stock was 2" Softrides, so on they went, minus the add-a-leafs. I left the rears as they were (didn't add the blocks), so now the truck has a very slight pre-runner look (front just a tiny bit higher than rear), and I've gotten used to it - and it rides quite nicely this way!

May get me flamed but Hopefully just a trend! My dad showed me pics of his highschool car with the front raised and my highschool car was raised in the back with air shocks (pretty cool in my day) And now they want them dropped all the way around. Guess I just prefer them to look like they were supposed to look. You can shave em or slam em but in the end they are still a truck !

Since I am not into the 4wd side of things at this time, I'm leaving my comments to the 2wd. I think they look good both stock and lowered. I don't really care for the slammed look, but I have seen some that look very good. My own preference is stock because one I do like that look, especially the rank of the SWB models. My main reason though is all of my trucks are still used too much for haulin. Yes, it is mostly haulin my backside, but many of the roads I use and the type hauling I do doesn't make a lowered one very reasonable. If I ever get the 70 on the road again (someday I hope) and if it turns out to be more of a show cruiser/toy, then I have thought about doing a 2/4 on it, but it is just a thought at the current time. To me, as long as you have the love for the ride, it doen't matter. You like cars/trucks and you are OK all the way in my book and so is your ride.

I like mine to set low enough to fill in some of the dead air space between the tires and the wheel well, but I don't like the huge rims to do that with (17" is big enough for me, thanks

). I also like just a little rake, just a touch high in the rear. Just my own personal preference.

Mine is stock like a rock, but I do have 31's under it, which sets it up a little higher than stock.
