3 spd manual hung in reverse
I can't get it out of gear. It's got a Hurst shifter on the floor. The stick moves all around, but the linkage must not be moving under the truck. Any suggestions?

Crawl underneath and move it levers by hand, about all you can do.

Put the brake on before doing this. Otherwise, when it hits neutral, you will know right away, as your body will be the new wheel chock.

If on an incline of any degree, you will have to releave the strain on the driveline to free up shift levers or they won't want to move. As TX said, safety always first!
This is a common problem of sloppy 3 on the tree.

Just crawl underneath and give the ol linkage a yank. I had to constantly do that when mine was on the column, but since we swapped it to the floor, it has never hung up on me

You said the shifter moves all around. Mine has had the two bolts that hold the shift arm to the shifter come out twice. Had to have it towed once because of it. At first it feels sloppy then comes totally loose after time. Use lock tight and check them every now and then if that is the problem.
