What is the difference? FAN SHROUDS

Can anyone tell me the difference between AC and non-AC fan shrouds on SBC versions of our trucks (1971 in particular)?

Is there a quick 'visual' ID to tell the difference between the two?

Are they interchangeable...even if a little modification is done?

Thanks for any insight!

SLS,

When I ordered mine from Tim (Christian), he told me the A/C shrouds aren't quite as deep as the non-A/C. Since the A/C trucks typically had larger radiators, the shroud for them is made shorter to keep the fan and shroud in the proper relationship.

Sorry, but I don't know the specific amount of difference. I wanted the shorter one due to my serpentine setup with the long water pump. They should interchange; I know some guys have mentioned trimming theirs to fit.

2 or 4 wheel drive? The motor on a K10/20 sits further back and requires a longer shroud. I do not know about the C10/20.

BIG ORANGE,

Have you listed them for sale in the 'Parts' forum?

You could probably sell them quickly there.
