57 On 68 Frame ?

Good Morning! I have a 57 Chevy 3600 Pickup that is in great shape, but driving it is tedious (235, 4 speed, 10,000 to 1 rear end gears!). I also have a 68 Chevy pickup that is a joy to drive (327, automatic, power steering ...) ... I would like to set the 57 on the 68 frame ... any advice or sites that could help me with this? Thanks and have a great day, Keb

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but if i remember correctly the 68's wheelbase is to wide for this swap. should find a s-10 frame to put it on.

Nah, DennyB has his 56 on a 67-72 chassis. The extra width can be corrected with the proper back spacing on the wheels.

Why not just fab a Camaro front clip onto the original frame?

The original frame and drivetrain is in really good condition, but the brakes are shot. I have the 68 chevy (it is in the avatar picture), and my wife is leaving for Europe for 10 days beginning Thanksgiving! I figure ... why not ... In the long run my plan would be to put the 68 body and bed on the 57 frame and use it as a work truck. I have a hydraulic truck crane to put on it and the 57 drivetrain crawls anywhere I point it. The 68 has the 290 horse 327 in it and a deep pan 400 automatic ... it is fun to drive and the 57 is fun to set in ... it seems like a killer combination.
