Reverse Open Hood
Has anyone done a reverse open hood on a 67-72? If so do you like it and where did you get the kit from? Just thinking about maybe doing it to my truck and looking for a kit. Thanx

Not on my truck, but on my car...the hood hinge from an 86-90 Buick Lesabre or Park Avenue is what all of the conversions i've seen use.

I've heard that some co. was working on getting a kit but don't know if they ever finished it, so far you gotta make the lesabre hinges worj in your application.

Check with board member LOTIK or do a search for posts by him. He did his 67 with the Buick LaSabre hinges. he could let you know what is involved. I can't find any of the pictures showing how he did it, but this one shows the after work.

there's a kit I saw used in a truck magazine. If I can find it, I'll tell you what it is, or who makes it, or whatever

The kit u are referrin to is for the 88 up Chevy trucks, there is not a kit for thses old trucks currently available although No Limit is working on one. Buick hinge is the way to go although Lotik told me it takes 2 people to open and close his hood because of the weight of the steel hood, it makes the hinges want to bind.

Thanx for all the information. It looks like if no one has a kit, I could make my own with the LeSabre hinges.
