clutch pivot assembly and header

I replaced my old clutch with a Southbend kevlar clutch. however, the clutch pivot arm (is that what its called?) rubs against the header pipes. I have Hedman headers on my 350. Someone mentioned Hooker headers as a better fit. Is this the case? Looking for a solution.

Did you have the problem before the clutch reaplacment? I just installed my Holley Flow Tech headers pn#31500 with no clearance problems. I was mainly concerned with the clutch linkage you are talking about, but all went in smoothly.

I have Heddmans and a Centerforce II clutch on a V8 350 in my '71 Jimmy. I had to put a couple of bends in the ears of my Z-bar to bypass the hedders.

Sounds like bending the Z-bar is temporary solution for now. Holley flow tech headers? They cleared everything okay?

Flow Tech headers made by Holley... They cleared the linkage great...

Here is a link to my post and a picture of the headers.

I'll have to get a picture of them installed.

A picture of that would be way cool! I hate messing around with headers, but replacement pipes may be the way to go. Thanks to all who replied.
