NAPCO trucks
I'd like to see some more NAPCO 4x4 trucks from the 55-66 era. I looked at a few on napco4x4.org and I think I have the bug. I'm half tempted to sell everything and get one of these babies!
Here are two of my favorites from napco4x4.org:

Something I noticed about those NAPCOs: the shackle is in the front.

Napco 6x6
A friend sent me the link, don't know anything about the 6x6 but I'm gonna guess it might have been a firetruck. I wish it said more about the drivetrain. Thanks for posting a picture Hutch. It is one of the coolest big trucks I've ever seen!

The 6X6 is mine, it was originally used by a power company and had a Highway digger mounted on it to place electrical poles. They needed the front drive axle when running power lines cross country or through rough or swampy terrain. The drivetrain is a 351 V-6, NP-540 5-speed transmission, Rockwell transfer case, Rockwell tandem rear axles and a NAPCO front axle. Gearing in the axles is 7.20. Glad you like it!

Napco or not???
I ran across this '65 3/4 ton 4X4 GMC today. It has Dana 60 front and rear axles, but it looks like some of the Napco conversions. It has the divorced transfer case. If you look at the pic of the front axle, you can see that the U bolts go around part of the diffential housing. It doesn't look factory. I think the axles have been changed. The front axles do not have lock in / lock out hubs. It has the big 305E V6 with the 4 speed tranny. It runs great, and the only thing that it needs is to have the U joints replaced. I can get it for $500, which I'm pretty sure is great price just even if just for the parts. Can anyone tell if it is a Napco truck? Thanks,

It's not a NAPCO but I'd pay $500 for it. The front axle looks like a closed knuckle Dana 44 but it's kinda hard to see in the shadows. U-bolts around that part of the center section is the way the factory mounted them. Divorced transfer case was also factory in all years prior to 67. It may very well be something that someone put together but if it runs it's well worth the $500. Got anymore pics? Looks like a nice truck!

Bob,
I don't have anymore pics of it right now. I am still considering buying it, but I really don't need another project right now. I would really like to have it because I like those old V6's. They are a great conversation piece, because most people know little or nothing about them. I recently sold a '68 GMC 6500 dump truck with a 478 V6 in it. That thing would really lug!! It wasn't the fastest truck in town, but with the 2 speed rear in Low and in 1st gear it felt like it would pull the earth off its axis!! I kinda miss the ol' truck, but the gas mileage, not so much
