Preference/favorite brand of ignition components
I'm up for cap, rotor, plugs, and wires once again- on both vehicles, actually. I've just used the NAPA (Niehoff, Echlin, Belden) stuff on the Chevy in the past. I'm sold on AC plugs in everything I run, so that's set in stone. I'm not looking to mod anything, just replace stock components.
But, I thought I'd ask: what brand(s) of ignition components do you prefer and, if possible, why? A list of possibilities: -OEM (GM, Mopar) -Mallory -NAPA (Niehoff, Echlin, Belden) -MSD (stock components) -Prestolite -Blue Max -Summit -Etcetera BTW, I've already ruled out Accel and SplitFire... They sell AC Delco stuff at Oreilly's. That would be my first choice. They also have a Borg Warner line of stuff with a lifetime guarantee that have heavy brass contacts, and look pretty sturdy. I would avoid the house stuff from the larger chains like the plague. Even if they hava a lifetime guarantee, I don't need the practice of changing a cap, rotor or wires.
I have used the 8.5mm MSD wires from Summit very satisfactorily as well. Very nice part.

I just recently changed out the distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires on my 76 with Borg Warner stuff from OReilly's and I've been happy so far. My coil was ok, so I just moved it over to the new cap and was good to go.
I've only had 1 problem with Borg Warner since I started working on my truck about a year ago, and that was with a bad Temp Sending Unit. OReilly's swapped with me with no hassle, but there was plenty of hassle in changing it twice. Mike |

Im a big fan of MSD. I also like Accel coils & cap/rotors. I usually use Motorcraft plugs(I know,I know FoMoCo). My dad had a mechanic shop for years & was always a chevy guy like myself, but swore by the Motorcraft plugs. Ive always had great luck with them too, so why change now?...corn

Bluestreak is good, Borg-Warner is good ac delco is good. Most stuff like modules I get are ac delco. I use ac-delco plugs and thought about NGK plugs to try them. Ive heard of people using Bosh platinum's but I haven't.

i strictly use AC plugs, and i either go with AC or B-W for the cap/rotor/wires. All my motors are stock tho.

Its what the factory uses, most ACDelco parts are pretty good parts.
