big engines
This is a wierd question, but does anyone know what the biggest gas engine Chevy ever made for any vehicle was? Say 1964 to present. Thanks.

im gonna have to say the biggest engine is the new 8.1 something like 493 cubic inches dont know of anything else bigger than that

isnt the copperhead a 572 or something. there is 502 as well

yea but neither of those were production engines just crate motors

the 8.1 is the biggest production motor gm made. its 496 cubes.

Was there not a 637 used in 3 ton style trucks. I thought that it was stilla BBC style block.

he asked about chevrolet engines, and for clarity the caddy was a 501 ci

the 502 is a crate motor too....454 is biggest regular production until the 496 right?

mortec has a canAm motor from the early seventies listed at 509 cid not sure if that means production or what... aluminum block

I know it's a GMC motor but we should include the 702ci/11.5L V12/twin V6.

I took a look at my chiltons and it showed the caddy as a 501 cubic inch
huh maybe all those engineers are wrong |

In the trouble shooting section of the book for my old Citation, it said if there is a metalic clicking noise as you drive slowly down the road, to inspect the U-JOINTS!! |
