Differences in 4spd trannys

Hello I was wondering if a 4spd from an 84 chev 4x4 w/ the 208 transfer case would work in a 78 4spd 4x4 w/ the 205 transfer case. Is there any modifications to be done to make it work? Thanks

the output shafts on the trans are different. you could change them. IIRC the 1984 trans will have a different spline count on the input shaft as well.
