Like NASCAR and 73-87's? Check this out!

Look what I just found in an old magazine I purchased recently. This has to be one of the coolest things I have found lately...and I just had to add it to 73-87.com.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Scoti, I was thinking the same thing. They are basically re-bodied Grand National cars, but I just dig the stance and the way they look.

Glad you guys like them.

MIke, I heard Richard Petty say something that has stuck with me for over half my life. He said "Men started racing cars after the second one was made". One of my favorite quotes.

It started in 83!! One the picture has one pre 80 older truck vs 83 models. Cool. I like the bed wind modification. Can you get any better readable images?I would like to read the article.

G, these are full size scans, you should be able to read them just fine. maybe your image size on the application you are using to view them is turned down? Try printing them, I bet they come out just fine.

One thing I wonder about this race or organization...how many years did this go on for?

When I hold my cursor over the image it allows me to expand it to full size. It must be some of your browser setting.

The GM's are showing us the early days of the Nascar trucks series, and this Ford is showing the ricers where "drifting" got started....

I just noticed this on your site today Jeff. I was going to send you an email about it, but...

A couple of years back when I was at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talledega, AL they had one of those trucks on display there.

You didn't read the text on the website did you? Here it is...

This is a vintage article I stumbled across in the September 1983 issue of Pickup Van & 4WD magazine.

Chris, did you take any pictures?

Glad you guys like this article. I felt like I struck gold when I came across it.

Well Chris, I think you better clean that house and/or garage of yours...I think I have a few request in to you for things you "can't find".

BTW, remember the E-mail I sent you last week? I might have a few pleasant surprises for you...and new additions to my site.
