What did you get done?

Sorry guys I'm running late. My daughters club volleyball season has started, and she has practice on Sunday from 4 to 6.

I was on call this weekend so all I did was log a butt load of miles on my truck. I didn't get a darn thing truck related done.

What did you get done????

Nothing on the 82...Pulled the fenders and steps of the 70's bed. Tore the utility boxes apart and cleaned the mud dobbers and trash from the insides. Got the doors off, and most of the outsides stripped /sanded. Hopefully I'll shoot some eastwood rust stuff on them over Thanksgiving weekend.

Put a serious dent in the Mississipii catfish population. I love church get togethers .
It was even tough fitting in the truck afterwords, let alone trying to get into the wife's car. Gotta love that southern fried catfish!!!!!!!!!!

went to try and start the motor in my blazer. Soon found out that a 305 and a 350 flexplate are different.

Then swaped out the steering box for one out of a 1 ton so that I could use the hydroboost from the same truck. Cant for the life of me get the tierod nut to go on with out the tierod spinning.

So I gave up for the day.

I got my new Moser 12-bolt housing back from having the 4-link brackets, panhard bar mount, and shock absorber mounts installed. Test fit it and everything works great.

On Sat, I worked on my brick mailbox that a visitor @ my neighbors house knocked over. Tried to stack the top 2/3's of the structure back onto the bottom 1/3 of loose brick. It took some HD steel moving dolleys & my engine hoist to manuver it.

I was hoisting it up into position & the top buckled, then disintegrated . Soooooo, then I started to disassemble it brick by brick. I wanted to see how much could be salvaged (going price for a brick/ double mailbox in my area is $625-725). I chipped away mortor all day long.... brick by brick.

Sunday, I went to a Circ Du Soleil show & then got home & watched the race that I recorded. Not much truck wise.

Well I got the old powerhouse 305 and tranny out and rolled the truck outside and cleaned and pressure washed about a inch of gunk and grime off the frame and front suspension. gonna replace all bushings and rubber in front susp. so its all gotta come apart and get some more cleaning and paint before it goes back together.

Finished the down pipe out of the turbo, 4" from the turbo back. Had to notch the crap out of the frame so now the body is ready to come off and we can weld braces back in after we put the chassis on my fixture to make sure it's not twisted up. Also got all cold side piping and wastegate dump tube fitted to downpipe. Pretty much ready to come apart and paint and try to figure out where all the bolts go that are in my nut and bolt box.

A whole bunch of driving and partying and wasting gas. Run slap outta money in my savings acount, so everything's on hold truckwise. Hell, this is probably my last tank of gas till i get a job (which i have been and will continue job hunting during Thanksgiving holidays). Got a couple applications out, and I plan on applying at Radio Shak.

Up we go

Work Friday night and most of the day Saturday putting a 4 inch lift on Boll Weevil (81 K5). Got the new front and rear leaf springs installed, 6 new shocks, 1 new stabilizer, 2 new front brake lines and a new rear brake line installed. With the 33's and 4 inch lift it brought the center of the wheel wells up to 42". I got a quarter inch clearance to get out of the garage without airing down. Took some dig pics I'll post eventually.

I got quite a bit done to my truck...actually, i got my truck DONE as far as mods go.
I finally got around to putting the new wheel cylinders on the rear brakes. Turns out, the rear shoes are good (same thickness as NEW pads). Also, finally got the fuel cell and roll pan on (see other threads). Eliminated the uneeded EVAP canister. Ordered a spa! and hung out with my friends, as usual.

Helped put a friends truck back to a 4/6 drop after we had bagged it the previous weekend.

Haven't touched the 83 in a few weeks.
