Wanted...Hood to fit 55 first series.

Looking for a hood to fit a 1955 1st series...I assume all these years are basically the same?

Hoods are all the same for Chevy 47-55 1st, just the emblems (mounting holes) are different. Greg

gregbr is right, all years are the same (47-55). The 54 I have has a 50 hood on it. Im not sure if big trucks (ex. 1-2tons) are the same as regular pickups. I know first hand that a 54 school bus hood wont work on a 54 pickup...already tried. The hood is the same size and width, but the fenders on the bus were arched a little more and the hood wont fit down right on a pickup. Were as the 55-59 were all the same, bus, big truck, pickup.

I wish I could help you out there. I do have a good one, but its the one for a bus lol. Took me about 2 years to find a good hood for the 54. Every one I found was so rusted they had gotten weak, or were pitted up so bad you couldnt use it. Well, you could just have 80% bondo 20% hood.
