The latest update on my '86
Ok, guys. I've finally got some paint on the ol' rig.
I know about the windows, I'm not even remotely worried. I made sure it would come off easily before going ahead. It's a flat ocean blue, for the winter. And all that was done with spray bomb. :p All that's left is the other side of the box, the tail gate, and the wheels. Then trim goes back on and I'm driving it again.

Yeah. So far, I've used 7 cans of primer and six cans of paint on the cab. But only one can for the entire passenger side of the box, with a better finish, because I didn't need to prime.
At this rate, buying a couple gallons of REAL paint, is cheaper. You live and learn, right.

LOL my dad told me to buy like a dozen rattle cans of red and touch up red until i finish body work and what-not. As good as that looks, i might have to take him up on that. I'm sure it might be cheaper to buy real paint, but I ain't got no sprayer.

Just know, if you use a primer first, make sure you robbin's egg the thing. If you spray it on solid, it'll lift and crack. You have to do it about five times to fill in all the colour, and you have a flat finish, but it'll be uniform. You can see on the hood where I got to close. No runs, but I have to sand those out now and finish it off. The box just went on like butter. No primer, so it didn't soak it up so much.
Oh, and if you have a compressor, a paint gun will be about $50 for a nice one.
