Replacing gas tank.
I can't seem to get the new one in. I can get into the filler hole but then the passenger side is stuck in front of the seatbelt and on a bracket on the floor board. Anyone have any ideas there? Looks like I'll be needing cab corners too someday soon. I'd like to replace every and all weatherstripping(if I decide to keep the cab) before any bodywork will be done.
Well, I just found a little info about what I might be doing wrong. I had the grommet in first and I read a post that says to install the tank first then thr grommet. I'll be trying that next.

I always put the gromet on then silicone spray it a bunch then shove it through the fill hole. I think I usally keep passenger end high when shoving tank through.

I install tanks like Solver does only I use hand soap (without the grit in it). This method works very well. Putting the grommet in afterwards is a job!

I put mine it with the grommet slid down the filler neck and then slid it up into place, then took a screwdriver and worked it into position. I also put some WD40 on it to help it slide into place. Tank went right in without the grommet to fight.
