Question Power Steering and long water pump

Still trying to get my long water pump setup going. Brackets from Alan Grove, used crank & pump pullets, but the power steering pump is about 7/8" too long. I'm assuming the long water pump used a power steering pump with a shorter snout on the pump body. Anyone know for certain?

Are your Alan Grove brackets 73 up long water pump also? Where will your p/s pump mount, on the head or down in the original truck location? Have you tried a 73 and newer p/s pump and pulley?

Grove brackets are for the alternator & a/c. P/s pump is in the stock location. Is the 73 & on pump & pulley what I need, then?

Thanks

So your saying the Grove brackets are for a long water pump and your using the original truck short water pump p/s brackets? If so i see 2 options get a 73 and up p/s pump and brackets for the long water pump or go to a short water pump and use 72 and eariler a/c and alt brackets. I have never seen any real difference in p/s pump snouts, maybe 1/4 inch and the way the return line is routed its all in the brackets and pulleys and long and short pumps and brackets don't mix without lots of modifications. Maybe someone else has a better answer for you that has done the mix.

I have the long water pump with Alan Grove low alternator bracket. When I added power steering, I bought my power steering brackets from Alan Grove, too. It tucks up nice to the block.

Thanks, guys. When I ordered the brackets the guy at Groves' said I should be able to use the stock bracket for the p/s pump, but I don't think he realized the pulley mismatch.

I have a dual pulley on the pump and a triple on the crank. I had assumed the p/s would pick up the pulley closest to the block, but that doesn't work, the stock pulley and bracket line up between the secon and third pulley.
