Son truck buildup.
As some of you may recall my sons first truck, 82 shorty was stolen last year. Well after haggling w/ the insurance we purchased a 80 shorty for a builder, and it needed alot of help. So heres what he started with:

Well first I have to tell you he did everything himself except the final paint - "torch red", I guess its a camro color out there. He added 2-1/2 drop spindles in the front, flip kit w/ 1-1/2 block w/ c/notch on the rear 2-1/2 drop springs, 78 front clip, humer gas door, auto gauges inside, corvette cowl hood, m&b kustom 20's all around smooth, b&m truck shifter, rinho bed liner, billet grill, rear roll pan, 82 dash, welded and shaved bed rails & cab seams & mirrors, skined tail gate and grafted license plate inside, new right side bed, two front fenders w/ side markers welded up. Thats about everything, he should have the glass installed this week and be on the road. When we bought the truck we never knew about the dent in the bed, bullet hole out the back of the cab, jb welded window cranks to regulator, he striped it all down gutting it. He then bought a welder and went to town buying fenders, bedside, tailgate cover, new ball joints springs and shocks. He added edlebrock valve covers and air cleaner & intake/carb, and a rebuilt trans. A few $$$$ later and a new interior it will be ready to show

By the way hows your project coming along?

My truck is the same color. only its 2004 corvette torch red. Do you have troble filling up your tank. Cause mines low like that and take all day to fill. Ian

offroad, I guess it could be the corvette torch red. As to filling the tank, well we haven't got that far yet, been filling it w/ bottle for now since its not registered for the street and still running open headers and missing the front and rear glass, hopefully we'll get it back road worthy be for the end of the year. When he grafted in the hummer gas door he used the original opening on a 80 fleetside and jsut enlarged it, so were hoping it won't be so bad.
Thanks everyone for the kind words, maybe we'll get another shot in front of Marlynn mural like we had the 82.

Leastbay, sorry was busy w/ some other things. Those are Pro-Comp gauges, the chrome is the beauty chrome on stock dash bezel that my son pulled away and painted the plastic light grey. He then placed the chrome piece back on and then bored the openings out to fit the new gauges in so that they sit out further than the dash bezel itself.
Hope that answers your ???
