LS1 bell housings

I know a few have done the swap but do the new 5.3 engines in the new trucks use the same bell housings as the older sbc? What all transmissions have you used in these swaps?

And are these considered the LS1 engines?

Thanks
Dave

Yes, all Chevy engines have the same bellhousing, from Duramax down to I6 250

I don't think that the 5.3 is an LS1 though

the LS1 and 5.3 are from the same family. the older bell housings will work fine. the only difrance is one bolt that the newer motors dont use.
