Selling, what's its worth

I'm thinking of selling. What's it worth. This truck was completely rebuilt in 2001, and I mean completely built. Entire frame has been por-15 coated, as well as inside of cab, and inside of doors, and bottom side of all panels. Drivetrain is 350-4 4 speed out of a 70 1/2 camaro. Complete redone interior. Inside of bed is several coats of herculiner coating. New chrome bumpers. New GMCPaul grill. GMCPaul door handles. New tires. New brake system including master cylinder and brake booster. New exhaust, including headers. Rebuilt Q-jet. New Crane cam, lifters, Z-28 valve springs. 4-speed has been recently refreshed. New clutch, pressure plate, T-Out bearing. New balance drive shaft, including new universals.

I'm definately no expert, but I would try 8-10K for starters and if a lot of people laugh....go a little lower. The question is never "what's it worth" but "what is someone willing to pay" The truck is beautiful. I'd try to get all I can out of her and start on the next one!!! Let us know what you decide!!

I have it insured for 10K but I figured I would try to get 8K out of it. I bought the truck and then threw away the cab and the bed. I bought a rust free cab out of Oklahoma, and a fiberglass 88 bed out of Indiana. I kept my doors and doghouse and referbed my frame. It took me a year out of my life with only T-day and X-mas day as a vacation. I still visited her though. I hate to part with the truck, but I'm trying to buy a piece of property that someone wants way too much money for in the "land price bubble" society that we are living in.

The best money for these trucks comes from purists who only buy trucks completely restored to stock specs. Resto-modified can also bring in around half what a concours would bring in. You have the unique late-mode bed that throws everyone into appraisel hell. Its clean, so you should easliy get over $5000, but getting over 10,000 might be difficult. I'd ask $12-15k, depending on your local market, just to see if anyone would buy it. Maybe someone likes it. Or maybe you'll find a buyer with a stock bed they'd like to swap in easy with nothing more than new paint.

Try ebay with a $10-12k reserve to guage interest. Do so before the holidays. People are broke thru January/Feb.

Like I said....if you want to get 8 out of it put 10 on it....make them think they are getting a bargain.... but I agree with the person who said to put it on ebay for a week with a reserve of 12....see how high it goes then if no one wins it contact the high bidders and see what they are willing to pay.....

Looks like a excellant job!!! If its as clean and new as you say hold above the 10k or more. I've seen not as good for a alot more. A buddy just traded for a '71 with a late step. Apraised for 15K. Good luck!!
