push starting

Okay, I need some help for a friend's 02 Silverado. It's a manuel transmission, and can you push start it without keys, or is there some stupid anti-theft thing on it? Sorry for the wierd question.

Yeah, he lost his keys. I thought I could push start him and not have to drive across town.
