tip

right now I have dual 1 3/4 pipes that cut off under the bed. if I put a 3 or 4 inch tip how much will the exhaust note change.

Depends on the length, the longer it is, the more mellow (and better) sounding the exhaust will be. Do you already have a crossover? That makes a world of difference.

i sure hope your ment 2-3/4" pipe. if not you don't need to worry about tone change, you need to worry about pipe size change.

that was the size when I bought it. I thought it was really small to. How much would it cost to get some 2.5 inch pipe that cuts off right behind the cab.

Depending on the mufflers, when they stop at the cab you get a hum or resination that will drive you nuts.
Had headers,turbos with turn downs and at 55mph you couldnt hear the radio.
