I can for you tonight. I just set the factory high back buckets and console I just purchased in Yeller the other night to get an idea on what they would look like.

What about low backs? Did they put low back buckets in the early year trucks or not.

These are 67-72 but I thought they put something like it in 73-74's...

I think they were like the low back buckets in blazers, with the console to match. The sides are a little more contoured than the 67-72 buckets, IIRC.

is the center seat on an independent frame from the buckets or is everything on one frame?

73-87's never has the center seat...they all had a console. Also, only the drivers seat is adjustable, the pass seat is stationary and fixed in place.

One more thing to consider. I have read in numerous old road test that the low back seats are not as comfortable as the later style high backs...I can't confirm that since I have never sat in low backs...but the high back I have sat in were pretty comfy.

Honestly, I prefer the lower backed seats. maybe it is because they are in 73-75 Blazers, or that they are more comfortable, I don't know. The only reason I ditched them in my 77 is that I picked up some 98 ext. cab buckets in leather for free, but I like the seats. That being said, right now my plan is to put in a 2000 model bench in the front and get rid of the back seat. Hopefully, I can get it decided before I uphulster something......

that style you have pictured is 67-68 only. the center seat has a tool box under it, and the back also folds down to make an arm rest. they are hard to find and expensive.

I am putting a set of high back '81 Blazer buckets in my truck, with the hideous red houndstooth upholstery. they are really comfy though.

The seats themsleves and the console are all the same and interchangable...but the brackets are different. Burb and Blazer brackets will not fit the pickup floor due to the difference in the floor shape and contour. You need to find some factory pickup bucket seat brackets, or make your own.

I bought a set of bucket seat brackets from a board member that were for a truck, not a blazer. They were supposed to be everything needed to bolt in buckets but that wasn't a true statement.

My guess is the floorpans were shaped slightly different for bucket seat trucks or there are some sort of tabs (or mounts) needed @ the center of the floor for the inner brackets to bolt to. Bench seat trucks don't have this mount/tab on their floor. So, I'll have to fab something to make them work but otherwise they bolt in the existing outer holes. I wonder if you could just use the burb/blazer brackets & make your own inner brackets to work w/your trucks floor?

Bigblock73, do you know what brackets I'm referring to? Can you get a shot of your inner/outer brackets?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Scoti, here is a pic of the inner floor tabs. If you like, I can daw this up real quick in CAD tomorrow, make a 1:1 scale PDF, and E-mail you the image. This would allow you to fabricate your own brackets to get those buckets to work in your truck.

If interested, PM me your E-mail addy and I will get back to you.
