How do I tell what Carb I have?
It's a Holley and it needs to be rebuilt, which means I need a rebuild kit. The only numbers I could find were the following 1850-4, 1333, 6R 7809. Do any of these #'s indentify what carb I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vac. seconary 600 cfm side hung holley w/ transfer tube from front to rear bowls. Use only holley brand kit, DO NOT use a parts store type rebuild kit, the needle and seat assembly they have in those kits screw up the theads in the bowl of the carb and be careful with assembly of the transfer tube "O" rings. You don't know what number I should tell them at the parts store do you? Either the part number for the carb or the rebuild kit? The guys at my local parts store would be utterly and completely lost if I told them what you just told me. I don't any of them have any facial hair yet.

I'm sorry, I am an idiot sometimes, your carb is a 1850. The dash 4 is a newer model and may have the blow proof power valve. If it does not Summit sells a kit to cue a common problem for these carbs for what ever reason. I have seen alot of these carbs returned because of the power valve. IMO buy the kit for the carb and if funds allow buy the kit for the power valve from summit and a set of secondary springs to taylor the secondaries to your motor, and by all means avoid the old "screw in the linkage" trick- it causes all types of problems.

The 1850-4 is a Holley model 4160 600 CFM. The renew kit is Holley #37-119 and the trick kit is 37-912.
