Question brakes in my 70

I have a 70 c20. I plan on using the ECE drop conversion spindles. heres the problem, i want to keep the 8 lugs but the spindles requires disc brakes. I know they make 8 lug disc brakes but does anyone know which ones will fit. Thanks for all the help.

Please don't take offense DISTURBED KONCEPTZ, but I just got off the phone with ECE and they said it won't work.

Has anyone actually done this. I'm afraid the rotor may be too big (diameter wise) for the caliper to bolt up, and perhaps the actual spindle not being long enough, etc.

Thanks.

The guys at ece are real cool. I would be suprised if either them or cpp doesnt sell a disc brake kit for an 8 lug set up. If they sell the spindals that require the brakes then they probably sell the brakes to go with the spindals.

I have sold lots of the 3/4T dropped spindles for customers with 71-2 trucks...no problems...so all of the 71-2 parts fit and work.
You may want to check prices on other than ECE. I think you will be surprised at the savings if you shop around.

GreyHoundSteve,

That's just it. They sell a 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton conversion 2 1/2" drop. They say you need to use 5-6 lug rotors. They may have a disc brake setup with no drop, but we want to drop this thing...

Pickmup,
These 3/4T dropped spindles work on a 70 I presume, right? And you have 8-Lug rotors and calipers part numbers that fit. How much of a drop are they, and how much do you want for a pair?

We're also looking for the rear flip kit. Any ideas on that?

Please send me the parts list you indicate in your signature. bterry_at_stny.rr.com

Thanks.
