I would check all outside lights to make sure they are working.
Is your flasher bad?
When you have your hazards on and you brake the turn signals stay light (they stop flashing), then when you release the brake pedal they flash again.
If fuses are good I would try replacing the flasher with a known good one.

LOOK FOR A BAD GROUND CIRCUIT. The brake lights are searching for a ground and are feeding through the bulbs to get it.

My 68 had the same problem. I grounded the bed to the frame and the problem disappeared.

Most likely a bad ground or fuse, letting it backfeed thru the bulbs. My grandpa's truck recently acted up like that. Everytime he pressed the brakes his dome light would come on which was really odd. And his brake lights were'nt working. He changed a fuse and checked a ground and got it working. Ive also heard that a bad bulb can make stuff act funny like that? Like a tail light burnt out making both quit working??? Thats what ive heard.

Was the flasher bad?
Because these trucks share a brake and signal light in the back the flashers do not flash when the brake light is on. This kind of sucks, but not much that can be done because the bulb is shared.
