Chevy duty FINALLY in and a domelight ?

Well, i had 2 things on backorder. The horn button retainer cup and the battery clamp. I had ordered the stainless steel but for the last 2 months it was backordered. I finally told them if they had the regular clamp, just send it and refund the diference. So they 2nd dayed it to me
Here's a semi-related question: I wanna get the dome light for my truck cause the under dash light isn't cutting it. CD just lists the housing from a 84-87 pickup, then housing for 73-91 blazer, burban and crew. according to this and the LMC catalog, the lens is the same for both, so am i to assume the housing for 73-early84 housing for dome lamp is same for pickups and burbans?

Cliff, it's been a while since I've seen the inside of a burb or blazer, but I think the housings were the same as a p'up, just maybe turned different directions.

yeah they changed mid 84, but i'm thinking the housing outta a burb will work cause the lens is the exact same. The main thing i'm guessing is maybe fit in the headliner? I don't have a headliner, but when i get one, id prefer it to fit right.
Ha that's an oxymoron, fit and a old pickup.

I got this light off eBay for $5 or so and am now building a custom headliner console to house it.
Making it out of 1/4" ply.
Put the last coat of bondo on the wood yesterday.
Might paint it black today if this rain lets up.
Total cost for it thus far= $25
Light has two bulbs and is as bright as a headlight!

Another thing I did long ago was get a underdash light from the GM counter and installed it.
Screwhole was already there!
It really helped.
