SM 465 question

Where online are the tech manual copys for the SM 465??? Also how does 1st or "Granny" engage?? It doesn't seem to be at all like the straight cut 1st gear in the SM 420.
At least mine engages with only a short throw forward into the 1st position while the SM 420 in another vehicle I have ( Jeep) is a very long throw.
???

Dave

I could never just get mine to go in, always had to double clutch it or do it when the truck is shut off.

There's no synchro on 1st, so you have to "feel" you way into gear. Best from standstill.

Yea, you have to be stopped. My two are about the same, maybe lift off the clutch slightly while gently shooving the shifter forward.

I'm not an expert on this by any means, but from my understanding, 1st gear is on a slider bearing, coupled with 2nd...?!? I almost always have to shift into 2nd before I can get it into 1st. I agree that the throw into 1st is shorter than for 3rd. And must be sitting still to get into 1st.

Hope this is what you're looking for, or at least close.
