The`91 is a 3/4t 4wd with a 6.2/4L80E(4"TuffCountry/12.50/35x16 Goodyear MT/Rs).Rather than do anything with this body,I want to put a`67-`72 body on it.

I am assuming that you are refering to the solid axle R/V series and not the IFS axle C/K series. Assuming that this is correct, you would probably find it easier to get the 67-72 and use the 67-72 frame and transfer the R/V axles & stuff over to it... Whether or not it would be I don't know but I'm a glutton for punishment anyway...

Yeah, that`s what I have, the last year solid axle/1st year 4L80E in 3/4t Suburban.`92 was when the"88-style"Suburbans started and got the IFS.Anyway,I see alot of 67-72 truck bodies"set"on 73-87 frames.I`m wondering why the same would not be feasible with Suburbans.

I have a 68' suburban with a bent frame. What other frames could be adapted to fit under it?

I'm not sure if the wheelbase's are the same length or not but if the are the same or close enough for government work, then I guess you could do the swap. Keep in mind you will probably have to fabricate a few bodymounts on the frame and maybe for the coresupport.
I just think it would be easier to swap the driveline over to the stock 67-72 chassis. It's not like you would be gaining a stronger chassis from swapping to the 91 frame as they are both still an open C channel frame and not a boxed frame... Not sure exactly what is involved but I do know that it's relatively straight forward to swap 73-91 rears into our bodystyle trucks and the motor/trans/transfer case should bolt in with a little help of a drill. Same goes for the 91 fuel tank. You will have to make new fuel lines and you may need to swap the front steelbrake lines from the 91 over too.

It would have to be a 2wd `67/`72 Suburban.I would need to mount leaf spring perches.Anyone done this?It would be the same work to install 4wd on a 2wd truck.

There's a guy in Clayton, NJ that has a 70 C10 2wd sub that he did a 4 x 4 conversion on, using a mid-late 70's 3/4 ton truck. He also swapped out the 350 for a talldeck 427 truck motor & a 4spd. He did this YEARS ago and still is driving the truck. I can get you in touch with him if you want to talk to him...

That would be cool.I`m looking ahead.Rather than put the time and money into the`91 body,I`d like to end up with a`67-72 3/4t 4wd w/diesel,4L80E,4.10 lockers,35"Goodyear MT/Rs.I get 18-20+mpg and have cruise control, too.
