HOT ROD MAG build up of a C-10

Don't know if you guys have seen this, but for HR Mag, it should be interesting. Nthing new, just caught me off guard that a mag would be massaging one of these old trucks...

I hope this is the way to put in a link...

Really??? You need to suscribe to Custom Classic Trucks and Classic Trucks magazine. One of them is currently doing A LOT to an early 60's chevy, nicknamed Project Old School, and an editorial has promised a build up of a 67-72 Chevy sometime next year. They are both great magazines.

Go to page 99 of the "current" January issue and they have yet another one they've stuck in there. This one is a 67 3/4 ton that they are going to use as the tow vehicle for a vintage dragster they are building. Seems one of these trucks has shown up in about 3 of the last 4 issues of Hot Rod.

Matt King is editor at Hot Rod I believe, along with some other ex-car Craft staff. When they were at CC they had all kinds of neat articles using different vehicles. Now There is this ex HRod editor at CC, and man does it suck...every issue deals with either fuel inj, pro streeters/pro touring, or some doctors 75K buildup of a 69 camaro. Not that there is anyhting wrong with those articles, but thats all there is anymore. The cover says "affordable street performance", which it is now not. I used to buy every issue of CC, now it totally blows. Hrod used to suck, and now I see some neat articles, such as the truck you mentioned. Matt King is the "average Joe's" editor..he even had a detailed artricle on how he and his crew got screwed over buying this mid 60's Lincoln off a this creepy looking old woman. Naturally the car broke down on the way home.
Just my 2 cents.

Used to subscribe to Custom Classic Trucks, its a good magazine, just don't have time to sit and read it. I don't even get Hot Rod, but I saw a link to the article on another web site, and went over to look. Thought I'd put a note hear incase anyone was interested. When I let my subscription go, CCT was starting to do all these high dollar trucks, and that is way far from where I'm at and ever going to be! I'm glad to hear they've come back to real people that actually work on their own trucks.

HR vs CC

This month's editor's page of Hot Rod talks about the "lesser" sibling mag Car Craft and how bad it is/was and then some. Guess they are now embarking in an effort to overhaul Car Craft too. They are all good IMO, the truck mags and the car mags...although some are better than others.

I totally agree. Hot Rod needed a major overhaul. I let my subscription go too...
It seems like every car featured was farmed out for everything...Whats the fun if you cant do some of it yourself...
